The Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care is one of the main departments at the Faculty of Health Sciences / University of Gharyan. It represents a distinguished system aimed at enhancing the profession of anesthesia and intensive care through its programs and active participation in organizations and associations concerned with the field of public health for the individual and society. Every year, the faculty graduates anesthesia and intensive care technicians who possess competence, skill, and knowledge in their professional life. This is achieved through an educational process based on building and developing the student's personality to be able to interact and deal professionally with the external environment in various work settings.
The teaching staff of the department strive to improve the health culture level of our students so that it aligns with the health, clinical, and technical standards that the student will deal with after completing the university stage and moving on to the work phase in many medical departments in hospitals and health centers, most importantly the operating rooms and intensive care units.
And Allah is the grantor of success.
Description
The Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care offers a standardized medical education program to graduate specialists in anesthesia and intensive care with the necessary skills, professional competencies, and scientific knowledge to keep pace with scientific and technical advancements and meet the demands of the job market. The program includes several courses in the general phase, divided into two semesters, followed by a three-year specialization phases.
This specialization involves both practical and theoretical courses, divided into supporting and specialized modules. The department boasts a number of professors specializing in anesthesia and intensive care who oversee the practical program, providing students with comprehensive scientific concepts and answers. During their specialization, students receive practical training in the college laboratories and the regional teaching hospital.
After passing the final exams in their fourth year, students undertake a three-month external training period at the teaching hospital and specialized clinics to gain practical skills and experience. Upon completion, graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Anesthesia and Intensive Car
Vision
Training, educating, and preparing the student theoretically and practically to raise the level of competence in emergency medical services and to graduate specialized cadres to work in the operating room as well as in intensive care units. The department also seeks to achieve regional excellence in the field of anesthesia and intensive care to foster fair competition among local and international community institutions in accordance with international standards.

To be pioneers in this specialized field and to provide the healthcare workforce with highly competent and skilled anesthesiology and intensive care specialists for patient safety and community service.
